Chicken Alfredo with Basil

chicken alfredo with basil

My Chicken Alfredo with Basil is tradition with a twist of flavor. A gourmet comfort food that's easy on effort and 5 star on the palette. I love to put creative twists to traditional Italian pasta recipes. It's fun and creative and it allows me to use the fresh seasonal ingredients that are available to me.

Basil is an Italian staple when it comes to cooking Italian food. It's sweet flavor and powerful aroma adds a beautiful color to any pasta dish. Not just your Alfredo sauce recipes.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 lb of pasta. I used a spiral pasta shape
  2. 1 lb of chicken breast
  3. 12 Tablespoons of butter
  4. 2 cups of heavy cream
  5. 10 leaves of basil, chopped
  6. 1 cup of grated parmigiano
  7. Salt and pepper
I begin with the basics. Follow the cooking instructions for your basic and traditional Alfredo sauce recipe.

I used a pound of chicken breast cut into bite sized pieces and sautéed them in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil and cooked them until they were tender.

Use a bunch of fresh basil and chop coarsely. Not too small because you want the strong presence of flavor and appearance.

I used a spiral bucatini pasta shape.

When your Alfredo sauce recipe is complete and your pasta is cooked al dente, drain and rinse in cold water so you can stop the cooking process. Once it's drained add directly to the pan of the sauce.

And there you have it. A beautiful and creative Italian pasta recipe that I’ve named Alfredo alla Kira Volpi. Maybe I’ll be a famous as Alfredo.
