Mouth Watering
Cheese Stuffed Meatballs
Cheese Stuffed Meatballs! Little bite size meatballs stuffed with delicious mozzarella cheese just waiting to be shoved into your watering mouth.
It's like putting a cheesy, meat bite bubble in your mouth. The smooth texture of the mozzarella surrounded by the flavorful meat and mixture of spices, deep fried to make them golden brown and simmered in a luscious, rich tomato sauce. Mama Mia! It's a gooda-meata-ball.
Yes, there are many recipes for stuffed meatballs. Some are stuffed with prosciutto, some are stuffed with peas or stuffed but this meatball stuffed with mozzarella is everyones favorite.
Cheese Stuffed Meatball Ingredients:
Make your typical blend of meats, bread crumbs and spices as you find on the
Italian meatball recipe page. The only difference here, is I soaked the Italian bread in water, squeezed out the excess water and then used a potato ricer before adding it to the meatball mixture. It was a cool way to blend the bread evenly with the rest of the ingredients.
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground veal
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2 eggs
- 1 large bunch of parsley
- 1 cup grated parmigiano reggiano
- Pinch of garlic powder
- Pinch of kosher salt
- 1 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 loaf of day old Italian bread
- enough vegetable Oil to cover a pan to fry the meatballs
Italian Meatball Recipe Preparation:
Using your hands blend all the meatball ingredients together until thoroughly blended.
I made these Italian meatballs much smaller then my jumbo sized meatballs for a couple of reasons.
- They cook more quickly
- When I fried them the didn't explode in the oil, which can happen with stuffed meatballs
I rolled them in flour and then added them to a pan of hot vegetable oil. You can use canola oil or any other high heat oil. Then I added them to a pan with any
tomato sauce recipe you'd like. Which one is your favorite?
It only seems right to serve this
cheese stuffed meatballs with a hearty pasta shape. Like spaghetti or bucatini.
Now get yourself a nice glass of Italian wine, a fork and stuff your mouth.
